My Approach to Pottery

Creating functional pottery has been my passion since I started making pots over 4o years ago. The Master potters who mentored me, taught me that form follows function. That simple concept has guided my work throughout the years.

I make functional pottery for daily use. I focus on the pots purpose and I have refined my work over time to ensure that aesthetics and function are merged into every pot so that it’s not only beautiful to look at, but it feels great when you hold it and it functions just as you would expect.

When you look at my work, I hope you see I am committed to refinement while still capturing the spontaneity of the curve of a pulled handle, or extenuating the throwing rings left by my fingers when I threw the pot. Each aspect of my pottery is carefully considered and thoughtfully executed so your experience is always pleasant and comforting.
